Revelation 12:10-12 (NIV)
Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say,“Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Messiah. For the accuser of our brothers and sisters, who accuses them before our God day and night, has been hurled down. They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death. Therefore rejoice, you heavens and you who dwell in them! But woe to the earth and the sea, because the devil has gone down to you! He is filled with fury, because he knows that his time is short.”
As I read the passage above, I’m reminded of several times in my life when I have let fear cripple me to silence. I’m reminded of crumbling walls. Fear told me if I spoke up for the cause of Christ, I’d be rejected, shunned by my friends and family. It told me I’d end up utterly alone and unloved. Although we may be rejected by the world, we are never alone and certainly never unloved. In John 15:18, Jesus reminds us that if we find this world hating us, we can take heart in knowing that he has walked in our shoes and has felt that same sting of rejection. Further, He assures us John 16:33 that although we may face trials such as these in this life, we can find peace in Him because He has overcome the world, and through Him, we have victory. So regardless of the criticism we may receive for “choosing the road less traveled”, we already know how the battle ends, and that’s a firm foundation we can stand assuredly on.
Coming to grips with this truth set me free to speak up (John 8:32), set me free to share my testimony, set me free to share the supernatural work God was doing in me. And as I spoke up, strongholds were broken, satan lost his grip on my life and I found victory.
Brothers and sisters, scripture calls us to speak out. And this blog is our voice. But we don’t want it to just be our voice that’s heard. As we give heed to God’s calling, I urge you to share as well. If you have a testimony of the power of God, please contact us so we can post it. God is good. He will not let your faithfulness return void. With every testimony shared, every word of truth proclaimed, satan’s kingdom crumbles. We’re not here to cause slight erosion to the walls he’s built. We’re here to destroy strongholds, break fallacies and storm the walls of a kingdom that has assaulted the hearts of God’s children far too many times. Joshua 6:20 tells us that as the trumpets blew and the Israelites raised their voices in a loud shout, the walls of Jericho crumbled. Raise your voices, brothers and sisters, as we prepare to claim what is rightfully ours in the name of Jesus.
