We’re In The (Syracuse, Kansas) News!

We're the kings of New York! (That's a Newsies reference, for those who weren't aware...)

Just wanted to let you all know that the Storming Jericho crew was featured in the latest edition of the Syracuse Journal in Syracuse, Kansas. If you want to read the story they wrote about us, click the link here (or click the photo on the left) and scroll down to Page 4 of the newspaper.

One thing I (Mike) want to clarify – My comment about Lindsie just “being a wife” was meant in a joking way, not in a mean, overly-controlling husband way (which is how I’m afraid it might sound when you just read it in a text format).

We’re truly thankful to the Syracuse Journal staff for having an interest in our story, and we’re extra-thankful they were willing to keep in the parts about our mission being so focused on learning to let God provide for us.

We’ll have another status update coming soon, but as you can tell from the story, things are going well. Also, you may have noticed that the Syracuse Journal is, in fact, located in Kansas. That means we’ve officially crossed Colorado off of our list of states walked through and we’ve moved onto Kansas. Now we just need prayers for cool weather and calm winds.

Thanks for reading, and we’ll have more soon!

-Mike and Lindsie (and Jaeda)

  1. I really enjoyed talking to both of you. It is such a blessing to see a young couple such as the two of you, really searching for what God wants in your life. I will be keeping up with you as you continue on your journey.

    • Thanks so much for everything, Carol. It was an awesome story (the one you wrote, I mean…not the story we shared with you) and we really enjoyed talking with you as well. We appreciate the words of encouragement and your desire to keep up with us. Hopefully we’ll keep things entertaining and such. Thanks again!

  2. Such a nice story in the Syracuse journal. So Linds I miss you and pray you and Mike’s journey is safe, that God surrounds you with his loving arms and brings many wonderful people in your lives. I wanted to get you something for your trip but that didn’t happen. Well may God bless you abundantly my dear:}

  3. Hey, I have at least three places where you can stay if make it to West Virginia. There right along on route 50. Also, I would like to walk with you when your in WV. The first 80 miles on route 50 from Parkersburg to Fairmont are pretty level and easy to walk. The rail trail is pretty decent shape except for the tunnels, a lot of them have pretty nice size rocks on the ground, makes it pretty hard to push a cart through. How far do you usually walk in a day?

    God bless and be safe.

    • Hey Gary, that sounds great on the places to stay in West Virginia. I’m not sure when exactly we’ll get there, but it’ll probably be this fall. We’ll most likely want to avoid areas that aren’t cart-friendly, but your advice on the matter will certainly be welcome when we get there. We usually do 15-20 miles a day whenever we can, since that usually seems to work best for us. We’ll look forward to seeing you later in the year when we get out your direction!

  4. Where are you now?

  5. That is awesome! Your Famous. I love to hear about all the people you meet and how God leads you and takes care of you.

    • We’re not the famous ones, Dave. We just met the famous ones. Although they have since declared that we’re now part of their family, so maybe we’re famous by association. Either way, we’re glad you’re still enjoying the blog and we’re thankful that you and Melissa got to be some of those “people we meet” along the road.
